Design Inspiration: The Dean Townhouse

Starting Anew

We are about to start on a new project, The Dean Townhouse, which we’ve been eagerly awaiting since last August. For this townhouse, I am hoping to strike a more sophisticated tone by marrying the historical architectural features with clean-lined updates. This will mean that the traditional details — such as the ornate crown molding throughout — will need to be balanced by more modern choices in the kitchen millwork, bathroom fixtures, and interior furnishings. Two projects that strike this balance perfectly are “Little Parndon” by Templeton Architecture (shown above), and “Bellechasse” by Joseph Dirand (check out Dirand’s house tour here). In each of these homes, the historical elements sing softly when placed alongside more modern updates and furnishings.

Included below is my Dean Townhouse Pinterest board,  plus some highly-covetable furniture I am lusting over for the home.
